Pastor Martin (Marty) Crump is a native of Gillette. He met his wife Carrie in Gillette and they married in 1977. They attended Bible College in Lafayette, Louisiana for 2 years. After being prompted by the Lord, they returned home to Gillette. They have been in Christian service for over 30 years, teaching Sunday school, youth group and Christian school. Pastor Marty and Carrie have raised three children; Abby, Joshua, and Sarah and have so far been blessed with six grandchildren.
Pastor Marty and Carrie helped pioneer a community counseling outreach and in 1985 that community outreach was incorporated as Family Life Church. In 1986, Pastor Marty Crump became the senior pastor. Family Life Church has grown by the grace and mercy of God, from a one room store front to a 25,000 sq. ft. facility on nine acres. Pastor Marty and Carrie have grown with the church from its humble beginnings to its current position in the community. It has been a challenge and a blessing for Pastor Marty and Carrie to pastor in a town they both grew up in and love.
Pastor Bill Morel has been filling the role of associate pastor here at Family Life Church since October of 2006. Bill grew-up in Illinois and attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where he graduated with a Master of Arts in Elementary Teaching in 1974. Bill had surrendered his life to Jesus during his college years and began to pursue a long held dream of being a "missionary". His first teaching assignment was in Queensland, Australia where he taught for 15 month, one year of that being on the Bamaga Aboriginal Reserve. A correspondence romance with Mary back in Minnesota called Bill to return there, but with an intermittent, life changing two month mission outreach with Youth With A Mission in the Samoan Islands.
Since Bill and Mary were married in 1976 they have attempted to follow God's leading in numerous locations. After 18 years with Okontoe Fellowship Ministries in Minnesota, Bill and Mary moved to Gillette to teach at Heritage Christian School for 6 years. They then returned to a long time dream of working with YWAM once again and joined the staff of the Crossroads Discipleship Training School.
What does Pastor Bill enjoy most at Family Life Church? Worship, prayer, and interactive small groups and Bible studies. (And of course Sunday morning coffee)
Mary Morel is the Children's Ministry Director. Mary joined the staff of Family Life Church in the summer of 2007 and has been honored to serve with a great group of volunteers who make up the Children's Ministry Team. Mary was blessed to be the 5th and last child of missionary parents. Born in the Himalayan Mountains of India, Mary spent most of her formative years in the Punjab in northern India and attending boarding school in the mountains.
When her family returned to the United States, they operated a campground and youth camp ministry in northeastern Minnesota. She was deeply involved with this ministry while attending college to get her degree in Elementary Education. Bill and Mary married after her graduation and have had a wonderful adventurous life together, serving the Lord on the mission field in Papua New Guinea, Northern Ontario with the Ojibway people, Youth With A Mission based in Hawaii and assisting families in missions to Asia, along with teaching school, family counseling, helping operate the camps, and youth work.
Bill and Mary have 4 grown children; Peter, Andrew, Katie, and Shelly. Three are married. Peter and Melanie have been blessed with Isabella, Andrew and Tamaira have been blessed with Naomi, and Katie married Jason Litzow, an Australian, in 2010. Katie and Jason minister at a children's home in Bali, Indonesia. Shelly joined Katie and Jason at the children's home in 2011 so she could be involved with that ministry as well.
Peter and Abby Angelos have been on staff as the jr./sr. high and young adults pastors since 2003. After marrying in November of 1999, Peter and Abby desired to follow God's plan for their lives and thru His divine leading moved to Portland, Oregon where Peter attended Portland Bible College. After living in Portland for three years; God's call on their lives lead them back home to Family Life Church and placed them in leadership in the same youth group that they had met and attended themselves as students.
Since that time God has increased their family from just two to five with the addition of their 3 daughters; Hallie, Sophie and Lillie. The Angelos family's vision in ministry and their personal life is the same, it is to teach young people to walk out their relationship with Christ in everyday situations and everyday life. They long to see those same young people raising their future families in the church, encouraging them to make their relationship with their Savior a lifelong journey.
